Chief Executive:
Rev Dr John ScottJohn is a native of Ireland and is married to Elizabeth and has three grown up children.
John studied at The Queen's University in Belfast and obtained a BSc and PhD in Engineering before entering into business. Sensing a call to church ministry he completed an MA in Theological Studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in Florida USA. Currently John is completing a second PhD, this time in Divinity at The University of Edinburgh.
In 1995 John became a minister in Southampton and then in 2002 moved to Chelmsford to become the minister of Chelmsford Presbyterian Church. While in Chelmsford John led a weekly Bible Study in Chelmsford prison for six years.
In 2009 John was appointed Chief Executive of the Daylight Christian Prison Trust. Under John's leadership Daylight now takes a keen interest in supporting ex-offenders after their release from prison as well as continuing to recruit volunteers to establish links with their local prisons to help in leading chapel services and Bible Studies.
When there is opportunity John likes to go fishing for rainbow or brown trout. Going back to Ireland and walking in the Mourne mountains is always a favourite activity. John also listens to a wide range of music but his favourite composer is Gustav Mahler. Favourite artists include Edvard Munch and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio.

Office Manager
Jeanette SelfridgeJeanette has had a varied career including working in BBC Radio News production in Carlisle and London. She ran her own restaurant in Kent, has developed a haute couture company specialising in bridal wear and has devised an accredited scheme of work in enterprise education for Key Stage 3 students. She moved to Cornwall after leaving the BBC to become Personal Assistant to the chairman of a mining and investment company and later relocated to London, setting up their new head office in the City.
Born in York and raised in Cumbria she is now an established southerner living with her husband, son and daughter in Essex. Latterly, Jeanette has been Head of Art and Design at an independent church school in Essex.
Jeanette has been deeply involved in church life over the past 18 years, particularly as a member of a 100-strong mixed choir. She is also a member, with her 16-year-old daughter, of a ladies choir which gives regular recitals in churches across the county.
"It's a privilege to be a member of the Daylight team and I especially admire their work with young offenders. I've worked as a teacher for many years and have found that even the most troubled teenager can experience real and lasting change when they recognize that Jesus is their Lord and Saviour."

Fundraising & Communications Manager
Sarah ScottSarah joined the Daylight team in February 2010 after two and a half years at the Church Urban Fund where she spent a year as Policy and Research Officer for the Grants team, before moving to their Marketing and Supporter Relations team as Fundraising Initiatives Coordinator. Her first year at CUF was part of her year on CARE's leadership programme which gave her the opportunity to learn from Christian leaders and Christians working in the public square, and engage with issues of politics, social justice and theology. Before this, Sarah studied Geography at Cambridge University where she was also heavily involved with her church and with the Christian Union.
Despite being brought up in the northeast, Sarah has completely lost her accent and sounds like a true Londoner now, which is where she lives. She is an active member of Dundonald Church, Wimbledon where she teaches Sunday School and loves spending time at Easter and in the Summer doing Christian children's work. When she's not at work, she loves going out for dinner with friends, going for a run, going to the theatre, debating politics and spending time watching films with her housemates.
