Daylight Chaplains

Good volunteer chaplains are a huge asset to any Prison Chaplaincy Team. We hope to offer a Daylight Prison Chaplain (DP Chap!!) to every prison before our 25th Anniversary in 2029.

DP Chaps come from a variety of walks of life, some are full time ministers in their church others have no formal role, some have no previous prison experience and one retired from Prison Chaplaincy, after more than 20 years service, and promptly began to serve with us!

All have felt a call from God to share the Gospel truths about Jesus Christ behind the barbed wire and locked gates of UK prisons.  Typically a DP Chap will go into between 1 and 4 prisons on a regular basis depending on their time and availability.  Sometimes DP Chaps are paid by Daylight but many volunteer their time, all are properly vetted and encouraged to keep up with the latest training and support.

Your work meant all the difference to us, your man did what we couldn’t do and reached our foster son before we even knew where he was! Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Daylight. Your work is right on the line of God’s will”.
