Bible Studies & Courses

Regular Bible studies are another important aspect of Daylight’s ministry. Sometimes these will look at a specific topic the group are keen to learn more about, but most often, they follow a series through a particular book in the Bible.

These studies provide a good opportunity for prisoners to discuss and learn more about the Bible in an informal setting, and also enable us to disciple those prisoners who are Christians. We have been encouraged by having prisoners attending these groups who are eager to learn and are growing in their knowledge of God’s Word, and then to see them bringing others along with them.

“I’d just like to say, I’m so thankful I’ve come to prison. I’ve learnt so much from these Bible studies.”

(Prisoner)

Working in partnership with Christianity Explored Ministries, back in 2012, Daylight also helped to develop a prison edition of the popular Christianity Explored course, looking at who Jesus was, why He came, and what that means for us today.

Christianity Explored Prison Edition is a flexible an adaptable resources that keeps things simple, yet varied, while providing space for prisoners to dig deeper into Mark’s Gospel, and is also suitable for those who find reading a challenge.

"The course is getting wonderful feedback from all the men.”

(Prison Chaplain)

The course has proved very popular with both prisoners and prison chaplaincy teams, and we now also run a number of other courses by Christianity Explored Ministries such as Discipleship Explored, Life Explored, and Hope Explored in a growing number of prisons.
