Sunday Services

In many prisons Daylight staff and volunteer teams run, or take part in Sunday Services. These normally include Bible readings, prayer, a message from the Bible, and a number of hymns or songs.

Our teams are able to spend time chatting with individual prisoners before and after the services, as well as offering to pray with them over particular worries they may have about their families, or upcoming court hearings.

Our aim in these services is both to encourage prisoners who are Christians, helping them to be built up in their faith and grow in their knowledge of the Bible, as well as sharing the good news of Jesus with others, many of whom may not have heard the gospel before.

We are also able to provide literature for the prisoners attending to take back to their cells, with many enjoying having Bible Text Postcards to display in their cells, as well as taking daily reading booklets to read throughout the month.

“I really like your services. They are very helpful. You have no idea how much good they do here.”
